Emma Sayers studied in NZ with Judith Clark, completing her BMus at Victoria University. She then travelled to Hungary thanks to the generous support of a TVNZ Young Achiever’s Award and studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, primarily with Rita Wagner. She also holds a MMus degree from Massey University. Emma loves playing new music and has been a member of Stroma since its inaugural concert. She has given many premiere performances of works by NZ composers, including Anthony Ritchie’s 3rd Piano concerto which was written for her and has been performed with both the Auckland Philharmonia and the Manukau Symphony Orchestra. Emma teaches at the NZ School of Music in Wellington.
